Abstract
: The study was designed in order to examine
the effect of teaching training for retired officers who decided to become
teachers as a second career.
The sample
included 88 students(of both genders) who joined Beit Berl College for
teachers' training in Israel. Forty
four were officers who decided to be retired earlier, in order to be trained as
teachers(as a second career) and 44 were regular students.
The two
groups were required to fill an educational attitudes questionnaire developed
by Kramer-Hayoun(1977) and refined by Danieli(1991). The subjects filled the
questionnaire before joining the training courses and terminating the training
coureses(two years after).
Findings
reveals: taht the training do have effects upon both groups, however the effect
was more significant in the regular group. The officers group remianed more
conservative in their educational attitudes than their counterparts.
