General Information

The Conference will be held at Utrecht University located at the Uithof in the eastern part of the city. It has its own residential campus in a pleasant part of the historic city of Utrecht.

The Uithof

Because of its central location, the City of Utrecht is well connected to the rest of the Netherlands, and has a direct service to Amsterdam Schiphol airport-railway station (approximately 36 km /22 miles).

While Utrecht is not counted as one of the world’s largest cities, it is certainly one of the most noteworthy. It’s not because it’s home to the country’s highest tower, the 112-metre high Domtoren (Cathedral Tower): it’s because it is a superb conference location. The treasure trove of this illustrious past is situated in the Museum Quarter. After a conference day, take a walk through narrow alleyways and past hidden courtyards. Take a boat excursion through the nostalgic canals with their ancient wharf cellars, which now house friendly outdoor cafés and restaurants. Don’t forget to take a look at the historic churches and many museums in this surprising city, from changing exhibitions of old music boxes to Aboriginal Art. Utrecht is bursting with creativity. You’ll find inspiration in the numerous events, festivals, restaurants and pubs as well as in the city’s natural green areas. No need for boredom in this versatile and multifaceted city!
